A Ranger’s Tale (Tallenmere #1) by Mysti Parker
Review by Kate
I have had the privilege to work with Mysti since the beginning of Read 2 Review and feel just terrible that I haven’t reviewed this before. However with tying in a Read-A-Thon and a blog tour for Serenya’s Song (Tallenmere book 2) I sat down and read.
The first thing that captivated me about A Ranger’s Tale was the shear beauty the description was giving me. There was so much to take in to make this magical world. The second was Caliphany, she was an amazing character and the way she was written made me want to find out more about her. Because I came so invested in her when she looses someone I was honestly in tears reading.
The male leads Galadin and Jayden both made me love them, for different reasons and I really felt the dilemma that Caliphany faced with them. However like Caliphany I think I am firmly with Galadin.
The story was brilliantly told and just kept me interested and needing to know more. I have read the follow up to A Ranger’s Tale and I very much hope there will be many more in this series. I don’t think that the story is yet told and I am very much looking forward to more.
I would also like to make a note on the way Mysti writes. From what I have said above its pretty clear that she is able to deliver. Not just with characters and locations but her style had me pulled in on page one and had me shedding a tear not once but twice with the story, and I always say that if a book makes me cry then it is an amazing read!
I give A Ranger’s Tale 5/5
