“Like most people, I wrote stories as a child. I loved slipping into other people’s lives and exploring their worlds. But as I grew older, it became apparent to me that what most people considered “real writing” was literary fiction. I studied the greats of British literature in college and fear gripped my heart. How could I be a writer when I had to compete with the likes of Shakespeare, Dickens, and Bronte, to name just a few?”
