Jaded – An Excerpt

It is our privilage today to bring to our readers this amazing excerpt from Kenya Carlton’s amazing new novel Jaded. We are also happy to share her media kit that our friend AND awesome BBTT partner Roxanne has made. We hope to have Kenya feature on our BBTT’s soon. We hope you enjoy the excerpt, we loved it!

Martin Conway didn’t know what to expect. He idled in his police cruiser on the curb in anticipation of a few ominous clouds or some menacing lightening to strike down on the house. He wasn’t quite sure since he avoided this place as much as possible.

The manor that sat above Vine was a picture of Victorian splendor. Or at least that’s what the welcome brochure to all new tourists had professed.

No one had occupied the oldest standing mansion in town permanently for years and the historical society made sure no one probably ever would. Restrictions had been placed on the home that most modern families weren’t willing to contend with and older homeowners would be too overwhelmed to be bothered. The most that could be hoped for was the occasional renter. So the mansion that encompassed every viable asset that a haunted house possibly ever could, sat empty.”

This Is Not Forgiveness Exclusives

It is our pleasure to bring to our readers today some exclusives from the amazing new release by Celia Rees “This Is Not Forgiveness“. Following an email from Bloomsbury this morning we are honoured to bring you an exclusive preview of Chapter 1 and the brilliant trailer for the book. We hope you enjoy these as much as we have!

Excerpt:

Chapter One.

I can’t decide what to do with your ashes. It’s been nearly a year now. Almost summer again. The urn is sitting in front of me on the desk, brown plastic with a ref. number, the date and your name scribbled on a sticky label:

Robert Julian Maguire

The label has black borders and is beginning to peel at the corners. I smooth the wrinkled paper, trying to stick it back. It has been slapped on crooked by someone who didn’t care a whole lot about the contents. There are all kinds of urns you can have: brass, copper, pewter, ceramic; you can have a wooden casket with engraving on it, but those cost and someone would have to care enough to order one and buy it. I guess yours is the modern equivalent of the pauper’s grave.

“You Are Not Alone! – A Blog Post By Simon Smith-Wilson

Simon Smith-Wilson was kind enough to share this blog post with me this evening. For many of you who know this month for myself has been crazy. I had a major up with my WWE holiday but the rest of it has been quite bad. I have struggled through focusing on the site and by being surrounded by all my incredible friends who have truly been there for me.

Simon’s post truly touched me and it is that reason I want to share it with everyone. He is right, there are times when you feel so alone but take a look around you and I promise you will see a smiling face. Even if it is just one hold onto it and realise…

YOU ARE NOT ALONE!

“Life is hard. People can be cruel, but believe me You are not alone! All people feel the weight of the world on their shoulders, they are sad and they are lonely, but you must never give up. I honestly do believe that good things happen to good people, and if you believe in yourself, have faith and don’t give up then you will find the one thing that will bring you happiness. You deserve to be happy. You should never think any different. You deserve to be happy!”

BBTT 22nd November: Everything Erotic Guest Post by M.K. Elliott

In the first of our Bewitching Book Tour Tuesdays (BBTT) we are proud to welcome M.K. Elliott who has written an amazing guest post for us. We have also posted the first three media kits posted where you can find out more about the amazing books that M.K. Elliott features in. Here is an extract from M.K. Ellott’s awesome guest post Writing Good Sex

In September 2010, my fellow ‘Everything Erotic’ author and now publisher, C.J. Ellisson, threw out an idea: an erotica blog for the Kindle market which provided brand new erotica to readers from multiple authors.

It only took me about ten seconds to come back to her with a big, resounding ‘yes’! Though I’d not written much erotica, I was published with a variety of small presses and thought this new idea sounded like a winner.

Within a few weeks of starting the blog, we were adding hundreds of subscribers. New authors were getting involved and the whole project grew legs and ran. We were producing so much great fiction, together with non-fiction articles, sex toy and erotic books reviews, the next obvious way to go was putting all of our work into eBooks so people could read all the articles in one go.

When I first started writing erotica, I never imagined it would be of benefit in my regular writing (I also write paranormal fiction in the name Marissa Farrar) but it definitely has. Writing good sex is all about the description. The reader wants to be taken along with every last lick, suck and nibble. They want to feel exactly what the characters are feeling and, by reading, experience the range of sensations and emotions for themselves.

We have set up a brand new area on the site Mature Guest Posts where you can read the rest of this amazing guest post and an extract of the amazing Three’s not a Crowd
